The Duarran Sale topped at $18,000 with the sale of Lot 7, DUARRAN JUMBALAYA to Western Australia's Munda Pastoral. The repeat buyers spotted the bull at a visit earlier in the month. At 22 months of age Jumbalaya weighed 868kg, an EMA of 123 sq cms and fat coverage of 11/9.
The sale started strongly with the first six lots averaging over $10,000. Lot 1, Duarran Jamberoo sold for $11,000 to Gindi Past Co of NSW, and Lot 5, Duarran Jaffa was also purchased for $11,000 by long time client Gavin McKenzie of Tannyfoill Brangus.
The Kettle family bought 2 to average $9500 while Kylie and Gary Maguire from Dingo selected wisely and took 3 bulls to average $7333.
Many bulls went locally and to repeat buyers - Strathfield at McKinlay took 7, as did the Whatmore family from Morven.
The Red Brangus averaged $5615, and the Black Brangus averaged $4300 with a saleaverageof $5260.
