The Cootharaba Hereford sale topped at $30,000 at the 46th annual sale on property at Roma last Thursday. The 31 month old son of Glendan Park Empire is from the champion award winning Cootharaba Pauline family. He was purchased by the Compton Herefords - a very happy repeat buyer.
Uluru weighed 1215kg with an eye muscle area of 142 sq cms, fat scans of 26/14 mm and scrotal circumference of 46cms.
Three bulls sold for $10,000 - Lot 1 was a son of Devon Court Haymaker from the Cootharaba Day Dawn family, and he was purchased by commercial producers Hartnell & Connolly.
Tom & Robyn Nixon from Devon Court Herefords selected Lot 7 for $10,000. Cootharaba Ultimo he is by Glendan Park Empire out of the grand old Pauline 279.
Also commercial producers, Russel and Amanda Hay from Taroom, paid $10,000 for Lot 12, another robust son of Glendan Park Empire. The Hay family took home 3 bulls.
Mark Bath from NSW chose a big upstanding son of Centennial Firestorm in Lot 5 for $8000. Urangan weighed 926 kgs at 22 months and had an Eye Muscle Area of 124 and a high Intramuscular Fat reading of 7.4.
The Southern family from St George took three bulls , along with repeat buyers Ian Hoch, Warwick and Sophie Cooper and Christine and Cathy Gall.
Stud principal Ian Galloway said he was very pleased to have the support of long term clients and some new ones as well.
With an 80% clearance and top of $30,000, the sale averaged $5469.
